Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of the new season are included.
The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
The latest chapter finished on a huge suspense moment and revealed the premier party of heroes who will separate from the main group to embark on their separate journey, apart from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis), the nimble rogue (Laura), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
With an extensive roster, it was clear from the beginning that having everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
The Nature of the Combat Party
As described by the Dungeon Master, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might appear unsuited, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are perfectly fit for the Soldiers table.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering the secret base, assaulting Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The traitor then paid off his debts and fled to a fortified location in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire close behind.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to exit the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and warns that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having disobeyed his house’s orders to eliminate Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
- But, their reputation as key figures in House Halovar could help the team enter places they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character vowed a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Finally, all of them are wanted by the powers that control Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making remaining behind dangerous:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The fighter is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them little choice but to travel to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
